Rasheed Wallace has retired again

The Knicks had to more or less talk Wallace into coming into the fold for the 2012-13 season.
To be frank, he was working out better than many of us thought that he would prior to the foot injury that ultimately sat him down for good.
He provided New York with an option that would keep Tyson Chandler rested and he was fairly productive while he was on the court.
In a statement that posted on NBA.com,  Knicks coach Mike Woodson provided his thoughts on Wallace.
“Rasheed has given this team everything he had,” Woodson said in the statement. “He is a winner, true professional and leader on and off the court. Due to his injury, he will not be available to play for us during the playoffs. We owe this season’s success to veterans like Rasheed.”
Woodson stated at shootaround on Monday that Wallace was still dealing with pain.
“Again, it’s not my foot, so I don’t know,” Woodson said. “I mean, as long as I’ve known him, he’s had a high tolerance for pain, but obviously it’s bothering him and we’re going to have to be cautious of that.”
Now that caution has turned into retirement.
Wallace, 38,  finishes his career 18,390 total points and 8,503 total rebounds.
In closing, as Wallace would say ‘ that ball don’t lie.’
