Men's Hoops No. 1 in Attendance Among California Schools


San Diego State's average home attendance at Viejas Arena in 2010-11 ranked first among all Division I universities in California and 30th overall. The Aztecs also enjoyed the second-largest increase in average attendance in the nation



SDSU played 15 home games this season and averaged 11,668 fans at the program's on-campus arena, which holds 12,414. The Aztecs' average home attendance was well ahead other California universities such as California (7,893) and UCLA (7,759), which were the second- and third-ranked Golden State schools, respectively.
In 2009-10, San Diego State averaged 7,227 fans and this season's 4,441 increase was the second-largest improvement to only BYU. The Cougars saw their average increase by 4,685 fans.
The Aztecs played before a capacity crowd inside Viejas Arena the last 10 home games of the campaign and in 13 of the team's 15 games on campus. San Diego State finished with a 14-1 record at home and was 34-3 overall after winning its first two NCAA Division I tournament games in program history en route to a spot in the Sweet 16.
SDSU has currently sold more than 800 new season tickets for the 2011-12 season after reaching a school-record figure for season tickets in 2010-11. San Diego State is currently accepting $50 full season-ticket deposits for new accounts for the upcoming '11-12 campaign. Season tickets start at $99.
