Luck Of The Irish: Paul Pierce Avoids A Game 2 Suspension Against The Heat

Boston Celtics All-Star, Paul Pierce, will not be suspended by the league for Game 2 against the Miami Heat for his Game 1 altercations.
First, he “head-butted” Miami forward James Jones as they got into each other’s face, which earned both Pierce and Jones their first technical fouls.
Later in the game, Pierce set a screen for Ray Allen on Dwayne Wade, who seemingly tried to run Pierce over. As a result of that play, Pierce and Wade got into each other’s faces and Paul received his second technical foul and was consequently ejected.
He must have said something about someone’s mother because the referee wasted no time tossing Pierce out of the game with just 7 minutes left in the 4th quarter.
Here’s what Pierce had to say about his ejection:
“I was surprised at getting kicked out, yeah,” Pierce said. “I didn’t think what I did warranted an ejection. But sometimes, players get caught in the heat of the game and sometimes the refs do, too.” -Source
Tonight, Pierce and the Celtics will look to avoid going down 0-2 in a playoff series for the first time since their “Big Three” came together.
Let’s hope the luck of the Irish is on their side tonight.
