 San Antonio Silver Stars drafts Oklahoma Sooners Danielle Robinson as the 6th overall pick in 2011 WNBA Draft.

The WNBA Draft kicked off on Monday, April 11, and the San Antonio Silver Stars selected Oklahoma Sooners senior Danielle Robinson with the sixth overall pick in the WNBA Draft.
Danielle Robinson is a two-time All-American point guard who helped lead the Oklahoma Sooners women’s basketball team to back-to-back Final Four appearances in 2009 and 2010.
Robinson is also one of only four players in the history of women’s college basketball to reach 2,000 points, 700 assists and 300 steals over her career.
While playing for the Oklahoma Sooners, Danielle Robinson garnered a number of honors, none more prestigious than her Gold Medal for Team USA in 2009. Robinson also led her Oklahoma Sooners senior class to a school record 55 wins in 63 home games (54 of 62 at Lloyd Noble Center).
Danielle Robinson is the 13th Oklahoma Sooners women’s basketball player drafted by the WNBA as well as the sixth first round pick.
Danielle Robinson joins five-time WNBA All-Star Becky Hammon in San Antonio. Oklahoma fans get an early chance to see Robinson’s professional debut as San Antonio begins the season Saturday, June 4, hosting the Tulsa Shock before travelling to Tulsa on Friday, June 10, for her first game back in Oklahoma.
