New York Team President Donnie is staying?

Posted by Josh Blacc on Apr 25th, 2011

After a somewhat disappointing post-season for the New York Knicks, there are some things they can be happy about.
The Knicks’ team president, Donnie Walsh, signed Amar’e Stoudemire last summer, acquired Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups in February, and the team was able to make the playoffs for the first time in seven years.
Making the playoffs in the East isn’t a great accomplishment (Pacers did it with 37 wins), but it’s an accomplishment nonetheless.
Partly thanks to that accomplishment and the fact Walsh was able to clean up the Knicks salary cap issues caused by Isiah Thomas, he may have a contract extension coming his way:
“The Knicks are considering a two-year extension for team president Donnie Walsh, with the matter expected to be resolved in the next two weeks, a person familiar with the organization’s thinking told CBSSports.com Sunday night.”
They have until April 30th to make a decision on whether they should exercise their option to keep Walsh, or if they should move on.
