NBA labor unrest affecting draft decisions?

Brandon Knight
Plenty of college players have declared for the June 13 NBA draft, but some have left the door open to return to college by not agreeing to terms with an agent. This week, Kentucky's Brandon Knight and Terrence Jones did just this.
Sports Illustrated reports that the reluctance to sign with an agent may be because of the rocky labor situation in the NBA.
"I think the lockout is definitely coming into play," one NBA personnel director told the site. "All year long I've been asking agents what you think is going to happen with guys, and the consensus is: 'If guys don't need money, then why would they lose a year of development sitting at home doing nothing?' It's the guys who need money saying, 'Well, my agent will loan me the money, so the fact that we're not getting paid is not an issue.'"
The site points out that NBA rookies don't generally get paid until the middle of November and agents sometimes lend them money to get through till their first big payday.
