The Houston Rockets and free agent center Erik Dampier agreed on a one-year deal two weeks ago, but the team first needed to clear a roster spot.
But things have changed since then and the 1-5 Rockets won't be adding Dampier, according to the Houston Chronicle. The plan had been to trade second-year guard Jermaine Taylor (notes), but the team told him Sunday that it changed plans and wasn't going to sign Dampier and move him after all.
