Report: Man Suing Derrick Rose For Missing 2012-2013 Season
Well, this is an entertaining lawsuit according to HipHop365 in which a 25-year old Peoria Illinois man is suing the injured Chicago Bulls star Derrick Rose for missing the current NBA season that led to mental depression and his obesity.
A 25 year old Peoria Illinois man filed a lawsuit Thursday against Chicago Bulls Superstar Derrick Rose. Matthew Thompson, a self-described long-time Bulls fan, and electrician claims Rose missing the entire 2012-2013 NBA regular season has caused him to have mental breakdowns and emotional distress, which ultimately led to obesity issues.
Thompson claims Rose was negligent in refusing to return despite being cleared by team doctors which led to his current health issues.
The article sited that it is unknown if Peoria County Officials are taking the lawsuit seriously, but this certainly adds a bit of humor to this NBA

Jay Z Releases Letter About End Of Brooklyn Nets Ownership
We all knew this was coming eventually. Today Jay-Z released a letter about the end of his Brooklyn Nets ownership and the future of both the team and his Roc Nation label. Read below.
Being a member of the Nets organization surpassed some of my greatest ambitions. It was never about an investment; it was about the NETS and Brooklyn. My job as an owner is over but as a fan it has just begun. I’m a Brooklyn Net forever. It’s been an honor to work with Mikhail Prokhorov, Dmitry Razumov, Christophe Charlier, ONEXIM Sports and Entertainment, Brett Yormark and all the wonderful people involved in making the Nets first class. My sincerest thanks goes to Bruce Ratner, who first introduced the idea of moving the Nets to Brooklyn. A thank you and deepest appreciation goes to the fans. You are the lifeblood of any team.The Nets have made their mark on the NBA and as they enter a new era, Roc Nation does as well; as we embark on Roc Nation Sports. Our newest endeavor is committed to building the brands of professional athletes as we have done for some of today’s top music artists. For Roc Nation Sports to function at its full potential, NBA rules stipulate that I relinquish my ownership in the Brooklyn Nets. Stephen Curry breaks 3-point record; Hawks HATES on Twitter, shame for ATL
So, Stephen Curry did what we all expected him to do Wednesday night in Portland by breaking Ray Allen’s single-season 3-point record. He eclipsed the mark on his second three midway through the second quarter. He added two more the rest of the night and set the new record at 272.
The Hawks were not impressed. For some reason, their Twitter account chimed in with the following after Curry broke the record (tweet is still up as of these words):

But, yes, Kyle Korver currently has made at least one 3-pointer in 73-consecutive games. And yes, that’s pretty impressive. But it’s not a record. (Dana Barros holds that record with 89-straight games.) Meaning that someone has already done what Korver has accomplished. Meanwhile, nobody has made more three pointers in a season than Curry. Why is this even a discussion?
We don’t know what the Hawks, or more likely some intern, were trying to accomplish. But if your best comeback is along the lines of, “Oh yeah! Well, Kyle Korver did this…,” we’re pretty sure you’re setting yourself up for a loss.
It really amounts to the worst Twitter war ever. But by then it was too late. The damage was done. The Hawks’ Twitter mentions were set on fire by insulted basketball fans and Warriors homers. A small sampling:

After his notorious All Star snub this year, Stephen Curry has rained down a number of reasons to make his critics regret. The latest milestone is his record breaking run of 271 three-point shots made.The Warriors guard passed the greatest 3-point shooter of all-time, Ray Allen, for the NBA record for most 3-pointers in a single season with 270. He needed two makes against the Trail Blazers to break the record and was able to drain number 270 midway through the second quarter followed by an emphatic fist pump.
Report: Zin Master Phill Jackson is ready to go back to work, soon!
Phil Jackson has become more interested in returning to the NBA, either as a coach or in a front office capacity, according to sources.
Jackson is intrigued by a management position for the first time in his career.
Jackson is "itching" to return, according to a source. He last coached the Los Angeles Lakers two seasons ago.
It remains to be seen what sort of opportunity Jackson might have in the league, the sources stressed.
Jackson has been linked to a possible role with Chris Hansen and Steve Ballmer if the Kings relocate to Seattle.
The Cleveland Cavaliers have previously been interested in Jackson and are said to be considering firing Byron Scott.

ESPN reports that former Bulls and Lakers legendary coach Phil Jackson is ready to end his retirement and go back to work, whether it's on the sideline or in a front office position. From ESPN:
But sources told ESPN.com this week that Jackson is "itching" to go back to work after a long spell to recharge since leaving the Los Angeles Lakers' bench following the 2010-11 season.Sources stressed that there is no specific opportunity in play yet for Jackson, who resisted coaching overtures from the Brooklyn Nets earlier this season and told longtime confidant Charley Rosen in January in a SheridanHoops.com story that he "has no intention of ever coaching again."But NBA coaching sources say that stance will not dissuade teams with openings from approaching Jackson this offseason to gauge his interest, with the Nets and Cleveland Cavaliers -- who interviewed Jackson in 2005 and are known to be contemplating a coaching change -- potentially at the top of the list.What has Jackson really intrigued, sources say, is the opportunity to oversee an organization in the patriarchal style of Pat Riley with the Miami Heat or in a role similar to that previously held by Larry Bird with the Indiana Pacers.

Jackson was considered the "leading candidate" to replace Mike Brown with the Lakers before Lakers owner Jim Buss pulled the rug out and went with Mike D'Antoni, and the Nets had Jackson at the top of their list after firing Avery Johnson before deciding to play the year out with P.J. Carlesimo which has resulted in a top-four seed in their first season in Brooklyn.
Jackson has been doing the promotional rounds recently, starting a Twitter account and doing more media in advance of his new book coming out. So this could be tied into that, to increase brand awareness. But then, few have expected Jackson to be done, even at age 67.
Also the Nets provide the best opportunity to come in and have wide-ranging powers. GM Billy King has been Mikhail Prokhorov's man in the rebuild, but there's a way to give Jackson president powers while keeping King as the point man on deals. It would be interesting and innovative to see Jackson as part-time coach, full-time president, without having to do the actual negotiating. But if anyone's willing to make exceptions and put the money together for a part-time coaching position for Jackson so he doesn't have to travel with his health issues, it's the devil-may-spend-er Prokhorov.
And then of course, there's the elephant in the room. If the Lakers miss the playoffs or get destroyed in the first round, would Jim Buss go back and retract his hard feelings towards Jackson, who will be his brother-in-law soon? Could Jackson return to coach the Lakers, an actually healthy team, in 2013-14?
As always, the attention is going to surround Jackson, just the way he tends to seem like he likes it.

Grizzlies Tony Allen Sings “This is How We Do It” is Worth a Listen (Video)
I wonder how much Montell Jordan makes off this song? It is still played everywhere and while he had some minor hits after this, nothing bigger than “This is How We Do It”.
I bet he just cashes royalty checks and lives the good life in ATL. SI Hot Clicks provides us with Tony Allen’s Karaoke rendition of the song and it is a sight to behold.

Kevin Durant needed to score 70 points tonight in order to win the NBA scoring title, but it will not happen as Durant has posted on his Instagram account @sniperjones35 that he will sit out the season finale tonight against Milwaukee.
As you can read, Durant isn't too worried about it giving a simple "oh well" as he and the Oklahoma City Thunder prepare for a playoff run. This will end a string of three straight scoring titles for Durant, as he will defer to the Knicks Carmelo Anthony who will claim the award for 2013.

Did Jazz fans poison Jordan’s pizza before the famous ‘flu game’?
You all know the story by now, but to refresh your memory, the Chicago Bulls were in a dogfight in the 1997 NBA Finals with the Utah Jazz.
The series was tied 2-2 and the Jazz had all the momentum after winning Games 3 and 4. Jordan gets sick the day before Game 5 — to the point he can’t walk. Bulls trainers say there is no way he can play the next day. Jordan wills himself out of bed, looks visibly ill, but starts for the Bulls in Game 5.
He hits a big 3-point shot late in the game to help seal the victory. He plays 44 minutes and has a stat line of 38 points, seven rebounds, five assists, three steals and one block.
It is considered one of the greatest clutch performances of all time. The Bulls would end up winning the championship in Game 6. It was always assumed Jordan just caught a random stomach virus, but according to his trainer Tim Grover, he was poisoned by someone in Utah. Here is his story.
We were in Park City, Utah, up in a hotel. Room service stopped at like nine o’clock. He got hungry and we really couldn’t find any other place to eat. So we said eh, the only thing I can find is a pizza place. So we says all right, order pizza.We had been there for a while. Everybody knew what hotel. Park City was not many hotels back then. So everyone kind of knew where we were staying.So we order pizza.Five guys came to deliver this pizza.I take the pizza and I tell them: “I’ve got a bad feeling about this. … I’ve just got a bad feeling about this.”Out of everybody in the room, [MJ] was the only one who ate. Nobody else had it.And then 2 o’clock in the morning I get a call to my room. Come to the room. He’s curled up in the fetal position. We’re looking at him, finding the team physician at that time.Immediately I told him it’s food poisoning.Not the flu.
I wouldn’t put it past Jazz fans, who have been known to be a bit on the crazy side. What do you believe?
8th seed watch: Utah Jazz and Los Angeles Lakers still fighting to stay alive.
The scenarios that can play out are as follows.
If the Lakers defeat the Houston Rockets at home on Wednesday, they will automatically step into the seventh seed of the Western Conference bracket.
If the Lakers lose and the Utah Jazz is defeated by the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday, then the Lakers fall to the eighth seed of the bracket.
If the Jazz win and the Lakers lose, Dwight Howard and Pau Gasol will be available for the rest of the spring to help Kobe Bryant rehab his Achilles injury.
Lakers coach Mike D’Antoni told ESPN that he likes his team’s chances .
“It’s come down to it’s in our hands and that’s kind of what we’ve been playing for and we’ve wanted, so here it is,” D’Antoni said after practice Tuesday. “Let’s go out and get it and take care of our own destiny.”
“My thoughts are, seventh and eighth I feel good,” D’Antoni said. “Out, I feel bad.”
D’Antoni will definitely feel bad.
If the Lakers drop the ball, the rumors will fly fast and furious about a one and done season for him in the City of Angels.
The Lakers will have to get it done without point guard Steve Nash who is out with hip, hamstring and back issues.
Meanwhile over in Memphis, The Jazz prepare to make a final stand to make their regular season mean something.
“I guess I need to try to get in touch with Kevin McHale and tell him to handle that for me. Give me a late birthday present,” Jazz veteran Al Jefferson told the Salt Lake Tribune.
McHale coached Jefferson when the pair were in Minnesota.
Prediction: The Jazz will play hyper-motivated and get it done in Memphis. The Rockets will do so as well. A loss to the Lakers would send them directly to the eigth seed and a non-enviable date with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
